Is the preview really free?
Yes. Building the preview is our marketing cost, not yours. If you don't want it, nothing happens - no invoice, no calls, no hard feelings. You only ever pay if you say "build it."
How can there be no build fee?
Agencies charge thousands up front because they carry offices, salespeople, and account managers. Northlight is deliberately lean and builds for one kind of client - local service businesses - so we can skip the big upfront bill and keep it to one simple monthly.
What if I want changes to the preview?
That's the point of the 15-minute call. We go through the site together, you tell us what's off, and we fix it before launch. Reasonable revisions are included - and once you're live, edits are part of your monthly plan.
When do I actually own the site?
After 12 monthly payments, the site, the design, the files, and the domain are yours outright. We register and manage the domain for you until then. Keep the plan going after that and it covers hosting, maintenance, and edits; cancel and we hand everything over and help you move it.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancel anytime with an email; billing stops at the end of the month. If you cancel inside the first 12 months the site comes down, since the build hasn't been paid off yet. After 12 months the site is yours to keep no matter what.
Can I just buy the site outright instead?
Yes. If monthly isn't your style, a one-time $1,000 flat build is available: $200 deposit to start, balance at launch, and everything is yours on day one. Just mention it when you reach out.
How do you know so much about my business already?
Everything in your preview comes from what you've already made public - your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your photos. We just put it to work in one place that you own.

Northlight Web Design is run by David Kincade, a Rutgers University graduate with a major in communication and a minor in digital media, based in central New Jersey. Before building websites, David spent years working in landscaping and restaurants, which is exactly why Northlight exists: the best tradespeople and service businesses are often the ones with no website at all. Their work speaks for itself in person, but online they're invisible, and every week customers who search for them find a competitor instead.
